A few words from Gary and Cyrus

With summer fast approaching, we’re suddenly feeling optimistic. Although 2020 altered our lives because of the pandemic, it looks like the worst is behind us. And during the darkest times, we learned just how strong our relationships with clients, colleagues, and partners are. Together we adapted by drawing on reserves of flexibility and creativity.

We’ve been working hard throughout the pandemic, and you can see the results in several of the projects profiled in this issue.

We’ve been working hard throughout the pandemic, and you can see the results in several of the projects profiled in this issue. Check out the feature on The Friendship Foundation to learn how we are helping to prepare an environment for students on the autism spectrum. Or flush out the full story of the new waste plumbing system at the New York-Presbyterian David H. Koch Center.

Some of the projects we are most excited about are in the sector of life sciences. To learn more about this sector and Research Triangle, one of its most active centers, click on our report from George Hachem and Nick Caronna, both of whom are based in our Raleigh office.

Although we have been busy with projects across all sectors, we have progressed with important initiatives within Syska. One is our continued work on diversity, equity, and inclusion (DEI). Another initiative relates to innovations. This issue includes details about both efforts.

We hope you enjoy these articles and the other ones included in this issue. As always, we welcome your feedback about Connections.

Happy reading!
